The curriculum units we explore in the GATE classroom support the Scope and Sequence
of the Clark County School District.
UNIVERSAL CONCEPT FOR
THE YEAR
In GATE, all of the projects and assignments we
do are connected to a universal concept. This year, we are working
with the concept of PERCEPTION. Some generalizations that
we are exploring include:
Perception
has limitations that are related to the perceiver.
Perception is our primary souce of knowledge.
Perception is influenced by change.
Perception can be affected by different factors.
Perception leads to assumptions.
SCOPE AND SEQUENCE
Clark County School District has a Scope and Sequence
for GATE students to follow. It's up to each GATE specialist to
plan activities that correlate to the Scope and Sequence.
The first couple of projects we will be doing are listed
below. Check back again to see what we are working on this year
as we learn about perception and pop culuture!
