Mad Science

We were talking about rocks, different rocks in mad science. One of the rocks was an igneous rock. It is made up of minerals. Asteroid Adam showed us a metamorphic rock. They are gemstones. I thought the sedimentary rock were sandstones. Our last rock was a conglomerate rock and it has many ingredients.

Then we were talking a lot about earthquakes. There’s a seismograph that measures earthquake shocks. A Richter scale tells how strong an earthquake is on a scale of 1 to 10. We talked about tectonic plates and fault lines, and how the earth keeps moving.

Then we were also talking a lot about volcanoes. They have liquid hot magma inside and lava on the outside. A volcano is really hot inside of it and has many rocks.

The last thing we talked about was earth works, like geodes. They are crystals. We learned that there are layers of the earth 1-crust, 2-mantel, and 3-the core.

Helping Out

Helping Out

Once I was playing outside on the playground. I was on the monkey bars. I was about to fall because it was my first time on the monkey bars. When I was about to fall a guy named Josh showed me how to do it. I didn’t fall because he helped me. It was really nice of him to help me on the monkey bars. Now I know how to do the monkey bars. Now if someone doesn’t know how to do it I can help them because he helped me.

The Oreo Stacking

The Oreo Stacking

We stacked Oreo cookies. We guessed how many Oreo cookies we could stack. Kobe got a little bit over 30.  Savanna got 30 cookies. We got a lot. Then we added all of our Oreo cookies together and we got 24. It was really cool when we stacked them! Cody, Chad’s brother, stacked some Oreos too. Then we all ate 3 Oreo cookies… bye, bye cookies in our stomachs!

The Front of the School

The Front of the School

I see a tree with only a few branches. It has dark and light leaves on it. It doesn’t have a trunk. It has shiny branches. Some of the leaves are stuck together but not all of them. Everything out there causes a shadow. All the walls out there have little bumps on it. Sometimes the grass looks shiny and squishy. Sometimes it’s not squishy or shiny. Sometimes it’s just dry and not shiny and it doesn’t feel squishy or it doesn’t look shiny.

What I Want to Learn in Third Grade

What I Want to Learn
in Third Grade

I want to learn cursive because it will make me write neater.  I want to learn it because older people do it. If I don’t learn it, I won’t be able to write it when I’m older.  If I don’t learn cursive I won’t be able to read other notes from people if they give me notes in cursive.  I really want to learn a lot of things in 3rd grade... so, so many things!
