Welcome to my web page for
the 2007-2008 school year. My name is Nadia. I hope you have enjoyed
visiting our class site: www.myFunTeacher.com.
This is my page. I did all of the work. Miss Powell helped me with
the typing. When
I did the work showcased on this web page, I was in second grade.

My Dad
My dad knows what I like and gets it for me.
My dad works very hard.
My dad is very helpful.
My dad is intelligent.
My dad is great fun to be around.
My uncle’s name is Mickey. It’s almost the same as Mickey Mouse. He works at the Luxor cleaning up after the shows. He is my grandma’s brother.
Since my grandpa went away to his home town in Bosnia, my uncle has been helping a lot around the house. He mows the grass and sweeps the floor. He’s too busy working to play with me. Sometimes we go to his house. It’s not very close to mine. When we get there I play with his cat.
I am a pencil. I hate being a pencil. They keep sharpening my head and it hurts. Sometimes they fight over me and then I end up being on the ground and it hurts my body.
The cool thing about being a pencil is when you stay at school for the night. Then you can be there alone in peace.
My mom is really nice to people. She helps people with cooking. Sometimes she shows people how to do something if they don’t know what to do. My mom is a very good cook. My favorite thing that she cooks is spaghetti. She takes care of me, even when I am sick.
My mom and I have a lot of fun together. Sometimes we paint or draw. Sometimes we go to the movies together or shopping. My mom loves sweets, any kind of sweets, especially crème brulee.
My mom’s name is Jasna. She plays with me a lot. We play a board game called Operation. My mom usually wins. I love my mom.
On Field Day we had lots of games. My favorite was Wet N'Wild. That was where you had to get the soda bottles with water in them and little holes in the bottom. Me and my friend Gabby were really wet. I really liked Field Day!
On Spring Break, I went to Atlanta. It was very fun. I got to play with my friend, Rijalda. We got to go to the mall. It was very big. When I got there it was raining. Before I went on the plane they had a tornado in downtown. It was still fun.
I would really like to go to the Ethel M. Chocolate Factory. I would like to learn how chocolate is made. It will be fun to watch the process of making chocolate. We can also visit the cactus park that is right next to the Chocolate Factory. There are lots of different cactuses in the park. The best of all is tasting the chocolate, mmmmm! I hope we will go soon.
Everything in my bedroom is pink with butterflies. Pink is my favorite color. My bed has pretty bed sheets. I have lots of stuffed animals and a flower shaped table. On the right side I have a computer and my desk.
My room is very organized. I really enjoy spending time in my bedroom.
I did my egg last Monday in my den with my whole family. I made it into a clown. I did it because I wanted to be a part of the Egg-cellent Fashion Show.
I think it will be fun because we are doing it today.
Today we did the Egg Roll. It was lots of fun. It was exciting. At the end of the Egg Roll and after we had all had a turn, Kyle had a turn. He won. Then we all cheered.
When we got back into the classroom we got to see what was inside the eggs. On some of them Miss Powell tricked us. The Egg Roll was very fun!
When Mrs. Nevada came to our class she read a story called "Stephanie's Ponytail". I really enjoyed when she read the book. It was very funny because the story was not real.
Mrs. Nevada's crown was small, sparkly, cute, pretty, silver and shiny. I really liked Mrs. Nevada because she is nice.
I really liked John's books because sometimes I like to ride in a car with my dog. My dog's name is Maxi just like in the book "The Adventures of Taxi Dog".
I learned a lot about John. I know that John used to live in New York. He is in a band, and he sells cars.
I want to know a little bit more about John: (1.) Are you married? (2.) Do you have a cool car like Miss Powell?
My cookies have red icing on top with heart shaped sprinkles. They taste very good. The frosting is strawberry. They are as soft as a pillow and as big as a hand.
My favorite fruit is strawberry. Strawberries can grow in gardens or on farms. This fruit has a very pretty red color. Strawberries are soft fruits with seeds. Sometimes they are sweet and sometimes they are sour. They can come in different sizes.
I love to eat fresh strawberries. You can use strawberries in many different ways, as a pie, ice cream, or a milk shake. Strawberries are very healthy for you. Enjoy the strawberries!
I am a little snowflake. I come in different shapes and sizes. Sometimes it is scary being a snowflake. When you fall down to the ground people can step on you and it hurts very bad.
When I float into the city I get scared of the city sounds. I like to be where the kids are building snowmen and playing in the snow. I float in the air and disappear. It is cool being a snowflake.
People keep fiddling with me and I don't like that. Plus, they drive me over night sometimes. What I like about me is that I am popular.
You won't find my things in regular cars. I am pretty cool. I have a built in phone, and when you sit on my seats your bottom can be warmed by a heater. Like I said, I'm pretty cool!
On my winter vacation I did lots of fun things. I rode my bike to the park. I went to the library to get books. I performed at the Galleria mall with my dance team. My friend invited me to a Christmas party. We played with her dog. It was lots of fun! The best of all was spending time with my family.
Every year in November American people celebrate Thanksgiving. I go to my grandparents' house for Thanksgiving dinner. I help my grandma prepare food. We have turkey and mashed potatoes with gravy, cranberry sauce, pumpkin pie, and bread. The best thing of all is a piece of homemade pumpkin pie with whip cream. The whole family enjoys Thanksgiving dinner and time together.
On Friday in our classroom Mark's mom talked about Mexico. September is Hispanic Heritage Month. I liked when Mark's mom brought the flan. It was very good!
On October 31st in the streets, children are trick or treating because it is Halloween. That is one of my favorite holidays. Streets are filled with children dressed up in costumes. They go from door to door collecting candies. I will dress up as a devil. I can't wait for Halloween night!
I brush my teeth. I comb my hair. I get dressed. I like to take care of my teeth and look nice and clean for each morning. I love to dress nice and put my hair back in a ponytail. I always try not to take that long.
