Tobie

My cousin’s name is Tobie.  He is part of my family.  He is still two months old.  Tobie’s mom and dad speak Cambodian.  Tobie’s birthday is in March. 

One time a dog was barking.  Tobie copied the dog and said “bark”.  He can’t really talk.

Tobie likes to cry a lot so he gets what he wants.  When he’s sleepy he cries.  If you give him his pacifier he doesn’t cry anymore.

I Am A Special Pencil

I am a special pencil with a big eraser. I am electronic. I have a button that I just have to say what I want to write. I am very shiny in any type of light. My lead is always sharp.

My Mom

My mom’s name is Kim.  She is fun sometimes.  Sometimes she tickles me even when I don’t want to be tickled.

My mom got us a big house in Las Vegas.  We used to have a house in California but now we live here.

My mom goes to sleep really early for her job.  She works in a casino and wears a pink uniform. I think she sort of likes her job, because of the money.  When ever she wakes up at 5:00 pm she yells for us to be quiet. 

My mom speaks Cambodian.  She likes American movies.  When I said she watches movies I meant she watches scary movies.  I like watching movies with her if they aren’t scary.

Field Day 2008

On Field Day we played a game called Wet’ n  Wild. It was my favorite. At the end of Field Day we got a popsicle and we saw the five fastest runners. Their coach was Mrs. Ozawa. Then we ate lunch.

My Spring Break

My spring break was fun.  I went to the game store.  My sister got "Final Fantasy" and I got "Battle For Volcano Island".  I played my video games almost every day.

My sisters went shopping with my dad. My mom and I stayed home.  My sister erased the memory from my video game.  I finished the whole game in one day!

Field Trip Idea

Dear Miss Powell,

On the field trip I think we should go to Chuck E. Cheese.  It is fun and everyone will have a blast.  It has my favorite game and I am also good at the game Ski Ball.  One time I got a 1000.  You get loads of tickets.  If this is a long ride to the field trip I need a bucket or a bag because I get car sick and bus sick.

Firefighter Garland

A firefighter came to our class.  He read a book called “Stop, Drop, and Roll”.  It is a very good book.  He also took our questions.  Now he knows about our class website.  Our teacher took pictures while he was reading the book.

Kenneth: This is my bedroom.  My bedroom is very cool.

Sister Julie: Psst…. His room is not so good.

Kenneth: Hey quit it! Julie, get out!  Sorry for that disturbance.  That was my sister Julie.  She is 13 this year.

The Egg-cellent Fashion Show

I made it in the afternoon. My sister and I did it in our home. The thing I am talking about is my egg.

It is not creative and it is messy. It is not cool. I did it to enter the Egg-cellent Fashion Show. It was fun.

Egg Roll

In March we did a class Egg Roll Project.  It is not like the food called an egg roll.  It is very fun. 

We used plastic Easter eggs and we got to guess what Miss Powell put inside them.  Miss Powell shook them and we each wrote down a guess.  The eggs were different colors.  There were erasers inside the purple egg.

After that we rolled the eggs down a long piece of paper.  When we were finished we all got to eat Jolly Ranchers.  After we ate Jolly Ranchers we wrote a story about the Egg Roll Project. 

Two teachers asked us what we were doing.  Chad's brother, Kyle, was the fastest in the group.  I was the 3rd.

When Mrs. Nevada Came to Our Class

When Mrs. Nevada came to our class she read us a book.  The book was called "Stephanie's Ponytail".

I enjoyed meeting Mrs. Nevada.  I also liked to see her crown. 

Mrs. Nevada's crown is silver.  It has diamonds all over it.  It is a heavy crown.

When John Came to Our Class

When John came to our class he read "The Adventures of Taxi Dog".  I liked it because it is realistic fiction.  The best part was when Maxi and Jim found each other.  I think John is a good reader.

What I learned about John is when he is not selling cars he plays in a band.  He is 31 years old and he was born in New York.

John sold Miss Powell her car.  It is called a Ford Edge.  I wonder if John will still be selling cars when I am old enough to drive.

Hello!  My cookies' names are "The Hearts".  My cookies are a heart shape and they are red with sprinkles.  They are kind of hard.  They all have different decorations.  These are my favorite cookies on Valentine's Day.

I am a snowflake.  I am very white and shiny.  I am the heaviest snowflake in the world.  I am the smallest snowflake in the universe.  I only come down in winter.  My edges are pointy.

I am Miss Powell's new car.  The type of car I am is a Ford Edge.  I am very shiny and popular.  I have a leather automatic seat.  I have a cool sunroof!  The best thing about me is that I have shiny wheels.

How I Spent My Winter Vacation

First we were packing.  Then we took off.  We went to Fontana, California.  We got there in three hours.  I get carsick but I only threw up once.  I got there in the dark.  I brought my Game Cube but I only took one video game. 

The next day we were going to leave but I got to stay because it was still track break.  I was at my aunt's house.

Thanksgiving Traditions

First we eat turkey and say it was good.  Most of the time we eat what ever my mom and dad make.  This is the only day I be good to my sisters.  And Thanksgiving is the day we can stay up more than our bed time.

Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month

On Friday in our class Mark's mom talked about Mexico.  You want to know why?  She used to live there.  She gave us flan, too.  She talked about a lot of waterfalls.  She talked about the food in Mexico.  There are a lot of big old buildings there.

Turtles and Humans

In school at recess two turtles played a game. They had nothing to do. The next day two humans went to the turtle school. The two humans were nervous. At recess the turtles were playing a game called "Water Wheel". The two boys were playing turtle baseball. The next day a crab came to school. The crab taught the class a crab game where you have five minutes to do the best tricks anyone has ever seen. They played and played.
